Chrysler Crossfire Engine Specs: The Crossfire Base comes outfitted with a 3.2 liter, 6-cylinder motor that uses 18 valves. The engine, manufactured by Chrysler, is mated to a five-speed transmission by Chrysler. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Chrysler.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering gear-style configuration. The Crossfire uses power-assisted brakes, with 2-Wheel ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The dimensions of the Crossfire Base are 69.50 inches wide by 159.80 inches long. It sits 51.40 inches off the ground. It seats a standard two passengers, with 2 doors. The wheelbase of 94.50 allows for extra leg room for the rear passengers.

A powertrain guarantee is provided (70,000 miles/84 months), and a 36,000 mile, 36 month guarantee also comes with the Chrysler Crossfire. This is average compared to the rest of the car market.

The listed retail price in 2004 (MSRP) was $33,620, with a dealer invoice cost of $31,158. This price is on target the industry average price for a two-door Coupe.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel system for the 2004 Crossfire is a SFI system, running on gasoline . The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design.

The Crossfire Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of 17 - 21 in-city driving and 25 - 28 when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid car, this was exceptional.

The 2003 model began the promise of the Chrysler Crossfire. The 2004 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Chrysler hopes that the Crossfire Base will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
