The Ford Focus ZX5 for 2004

Ford Focus

Ford has been blessed with many award-winning designs, including the Ford Focus of 2004. There are seven trim levels to the Focus, including LX, SE, SVT, ZTS, ZTW, ZX3, and ZX5. The ZX5 version is one of the more popular options. Like in 2003 the popular 2.0 liter Zetec has made this a popular choice for hatchback buyers across the country.

Ford Focus Engine Specs

The Focus ZX5 is equipped with a Ford 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine that utilizes 16 valves. The Zetec engine is mated to a Ford 4-speed Transaxle. This is a long-standing favorite for buyers in the Hatchback arena.

Fuel is handled for the Focus is a SFI design, running on gasoline fuel. The gasoline is managed by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The 13.20-gallon tank provides the fuel storage for longer trips.

The Focus uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

Vehicle Statistics

The Focus is 168.10 inches long, 66.90 inches wide, and 56.30 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 103.00 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.

The listed retail price in 2004 (MSRP) was $13,425, with an invoice cost of $12,581. This price is above average of the industry average price for a five-door Hatchback.

There is a 36,000 mile, 36 month warranty with this vehicle, including a powertrain warranty of 36,000/36 miles/months. This is normal for this price range.

Fuel Efficiency

The Focus ZX5 received a miles-per-gallon rating of 24 - 27 in-city driving and 30 - 36 when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green car, this was exceptional.

Conclusion

The 2004 model year was telling year for the Ford Focus. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the ZX5 version) meant that buyers had several options to choose from..
