The Chevrolet Monte Carlo LT for 2005

Chevrolet Monte Carlo

The restyled Monte Carlo LT is equipped with a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 12 valves. The Buick engine is mated to a General Motors four-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2004 version.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Monte Carlo comes equipped with power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

Vehicle Statistics

The dimensions of the Monte Carlo LT are 72.30 inches wide by 197.90 inches long. It sits 55.20 inches off the ground. It seats a standard five passengers, with 2 doors. The wheelbase of 110.50 allows for extra leg room for the rear passengers.

The standard warranty period for the Monte Carlo is 36 months, or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the coupe market.

The listed retail price in 2005 (MSRP) was $28,355, with a dealer invoice cost of $25,945. This price is on target the industry average price for a two-door Coupe.

Fuel Efficiency

For the 2005 Monte Carlo, the fuel configuration is a electronic SFI, using gasoline for fuel. A fuel-injected MFI configuration. The gas tank holds 17.00 gallons.

The 2005 Monte Carlo gets 28 miles/gallon on the highway and only 19 in the city. This is subpar for a coupe car.

What We Think of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo

The 2005 model year was telling year for the Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The introduction of several trim levels (along with the LT version) meant that buyers could find the version that best suited their needs.
