The restyled Monte Carlo SS is equipped with a General Motors 3.8-liter 6-cylinder engine that utilizes a total of 12 valves. The Buick engine is paired with a General Motors 4-speed transaxle. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Chevrolet.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Monte Carlo has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

A powertrain warranty is provided (36,000 miles/36 months), and a 36,000 mile, 36 month guarantee also comes with the Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Fuel Efficiency

I'm definiately wanting a flex fuel coupe. Since the Monte Carlo isn't, is it a good buy?

I saw the recent news about Chevrolets and their reliability. I personally would check out web sites like edmunds.com and others before I made a choice of a car like the Monte Carlo.
